Rosie Breen returns to our teaching staff this year. Rosie was on the original Board of Directors of the Chehalis Ballet Center in 1982, when our school was founded. She brings a wealth of teaching and dance experience to her students. She has over 27 years of dance training and 14 years of teaching experience. Rosie is our resident Costume Designer and all of our gorgeous tutus are “Rosie Original’s ”. This year Rosie will be teaching Ballet 6, 7 and Pointe.

Danielle Brosco begins her 9th year at SWDC.  She has a BFA from the University of California-Irvine and also did graduate level study in choreography, performance and student teaching at UCI.  Danielle brings 17 years of teaching and choreography experience to her classes.  She is also the Founding Artistic Director and choreographer for Blacken Tan Ddance, a prefessional modern dance company.  Danielle will teach all levels of Modern, Performance Level Hula, Video & Choreography and work with our Company Dancers. 

Rachael Cain  has recently been added to the Ballet Staff here at Southwest Washington Dance Center. Rachael has danced here since she was a child and we are very happy to add her experience to the school. (More on Rachael when she gives us her BIO.)

Jennifer Cole begins her 2nd year at SWDC.  Jenny has 10 years of personal dance training and performance experience from the Southwest Washington Dance Center and danced with the performing company for 3 years.  She is a graduate of Centralia Beauty College and has an AA degree from Centralia College.  She works as a medical secretary for Providence Physical Therapy in Tumwater.  Jenny will be teaching are Parent / Toddler Class and Creative Movement 4.

Tabitha Dennison is returning for her 5th year at SWDC.  She has a BA in education from WSU.  Tabitha is a military veteran, having served 4 years in the US Navy.  She has 9 years of dance training and performanc experience and 5 years of dance teaching experience.  She will be teaching all levels of Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz 3 and Jazz Competition this year. 

Rebecca Greenfield begins her 5th year at SWDC.  She is an honor graduate of WF West High School in Chehalis and has an AA from Centralia College.  Rebecca has 17 years of dance training and performance experience.  She has danced with Blacken Tan Dance, a professional dance company, for nine years.  Rebecca will be teaching Ballet 1, 3 & 5 and Hula 1. 

Nancy Gunter begins her 2nd year here at SWDC.  Nancy is a cum laude graduate from Mount Holyoke College in Massacheusetts.  She earned a BA in the Dance Honors program and a minor in French.  Nancy most recently taught in Federal Way, WA and was the Assistant Artistic Director for the Aria Dance Company.  Nancy brings 10 years of teaching experience and an extensive choreographic resume to her position here at SWDC.  She will be teaching Pre-Ballet, Ballet 2, 6, 7 & Pointe and Jazz 1 & 2.

Stacy Jones begins her 7th year at SWDC.  Stacy is a graduate of W.F. West High School in Chehalis.  She was a competitive gymnast for 6 years.  She also taught gymnastics for 5 years.  Stacy has over 15 years of dance and gymnastic experience.  Stacy also danced for 4 years with Blacken Tan Dance Copmany.  She will be teaching Creative Movement 1, 2, & 3.

Mike Orr returns for a 4th year as our Rhythmic Gymnastic Coach.  Mike of the originator of SWDC's rhythmic gymnastics program.  He has coached gymnastics for many years in the Twin City area.  Mike works for the Rochester School District.

Sandra Tarzan is taking a short break from teaching here at Southwest Washingotn Dance Center. Hopefully she will be back with us soon!

Jerome Tso returns to SWDC for his 2nd year.  He began training under Lucy Shriver here at the Dance Center.  Jerome has danced professional roles from teh classical Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty during his time at The Evergreen City Ballet, to more contemporary choreographics styles like Balanchine and Modern in other companies such as ARC Dance Productions (Seattle), Ballet Pacifica (Orange County) and DanielandSomeSuperFriends (New York).  He currently owns Jerome Tso Photography and works with up and coming breakfast franchise Mobatta Corporation as VP of Branding and Design.  He will be teaching Ballet 4 and Guy's Ballet this year.

  The Board of Directors regularly meets on the 2nd Tuesday evening of each month.  Meetings are open to anyone who would like to attend.  If you are interested in serving on the Board, contact another board member or call the studio office.

Southwest Washington Dance Center Volunteers: The Dance Center depends upon volunteers to support and enhance SWDC sponsored activities and events.  This support comes through the contributions of talent and time from parents, grandparents and family friends of SWDC students and also community supporters of the arts.  During our Nutcracker season, Dance Festival Northwest and the annual school Dance Concert in June, we will make an appeal for your help.  Please consider giving of a little of your time or talents to make SWDC a quality program for the dancers.
